T&V Architects is proud to announce the approaching completion of an ambitious residential project in Chester Square, one of Belgravia’s most prestigious garden squares. This extensive renovation reflects our passion for sensitively modernising heritage properties while celebrating their historic character and architectural significance.

The Grade II Listed townhouse has been carefully enhanced with the introduction of a new basement storey beneath the main house, thoughtfully designed to increase living space while remaining entirely discreet. This level includes a private swimming pool, providing a calm and luxurious retreat seamlessly integrated within the home.

The associated mews house has been reimagined and extended to a new height, with the addition of a lower ground floor storey, creating flexible and generous accommodation that complements the main residence. Throughout the project, particular care has been taken to ensure that new interventions sit comfortably within the established scale and character of the surrounding conservation area.

At roof level, the main building has been refined with a newly constructed roof accommodating plant equipment, carefully concealed to preserve the elegance of the roofscape. A new lift extension now connects the house from basement to third floor level, greatly enhancing accessibility and everyday comfort.

A redesigned interconnecting extension brings the main house and mews together in a natural and cohesive way, with its roof forming a beautifully considered roof terrace that offers valuable outdoor space in the heart of the city. Additional external works, including boundary enhancements and subtle façade alterations, further contribute to the overall sense of privacy and refinement.

Internally, the house has been transformed through comprehensive alterations that balance restored period detailing with contemporary design. A glazed roof infill extension within the rear light well at ground floor level allows natural light to filter deep into the plan, creating bright, welcoming interiors and a strong connection between old and new.
