Since last year you may have been working from home and made a dedicated space for such activity.
For some, that means using an area of the living room or bedroom, for others using a room exclusively assigned to office space.
Given the fact that working from home may further extend during the following months, it stands to reason that you should make your workspace productive and enjoyable.

1. An ergonomic desk chair is going to improve your productivity and assure you keep a correct posture. Furthermore, a great-quality chair will boost your professional look during video calls. When setting up your desk, it is a good practice to follow the NHS guidelines on ‘How to Sit at Your Desk Correctly’.
2. As you are not commuting and walking out for lunch, your body may sit for too long. With an adjustable height standing desk, you could improve your health by alternating sit to stand position throughout the day.
3. If you are using a laptop, attach an additional monitor directly to it. More screen area improves comfort, productivity, and efficiency.
4. Good lighting is key to any successful working environment.
If possible, place your desk next to a window, because daylight improves mood and happiness. Ideally, the window should be located on the opposite side of your writing hand. If the window light creates glare on your screen or eyes, it is recommended to adjust the curtains and drapes. When the natural light is not sufficient, you should turn on at least an ambient and a task light. 5. Keep the room temperature comfortable during your working hours and regularly open the window or exterior door. If you live in a city like London, ventilate your room before 9 AM, when the outdoor air is less polluted.
